RDGA Endorses Junior Golf School

Wed, Sept 1st - RDGA Endorses Year-Round Rochester Junior Golf School

The new youth focused academy will train year round allowing players to continue developing their game during the off-season to prepare for Spring and Summer tournaments.

The Rochester Golf Academy’s Junior Golf School has received full endorsement from the Rochester District Golf Association (RDGA) for their year-long training academy, the only one of its kind in the Greater Rochester Area, to be held at the Doug Miller Sports Dome in Spencerport. This new school will be taught by Golf Pro and Director of Instruction Danny Lee. Weekly practices will utilize the Gravity Golf ® System, a unique method improving both power and control in a player’s swing and endorsed by many PGA athletes, including Lee Trevino and Jack Nicklaus. “The opportunity provided by using the Doug Miller Sports Dome to practice golf through the winter is what will make the difference in a player’s development” said Danny Lee while discussing the advantages of the new school program.

The RDGA is excited about the opportunity for year-round lessons in the Dome, allowing players to keep their swing and technique fresh in their mind and muscle memory. “The muscle memory is key,” said Danny Lee, “when the body can perform the swing based on muscle memory alone, that’s when a player’s game really takes off.” The indoor facilities will allow for practice and improvement in all areas of the golf game, driving, iron play, short game, putting, and even the mental game. Once the weather begins to improve, players will continue lessons outdoors on local courses in preparation for the RDGA tournaments in the area.

The Rochester Golf Academy provides golf opportunites for all ages. Lessons and clinics with Director of Instruction and Golf Pro Danny Lee are available, as well as a winter Simulator Golf League.

Director of Golf Instruction

Friday, July 30th - Doug Miller Sports Dome signs Daniel Lee as Director of Golf Instruction

What sealed the deal to sign Daniel Lee as the new Director of Instruction for the Rochester Golf Academy, was a personal call to Doug Miller from none other than Lee Trevino.  “This young man really knows his stuff,” Trevino told Miller.  “Daniel is a highly trained and certified “Gravity Golf” instructor and a very advanced teacher for his age.”   Daniel is the twenty-two year old son of David Lee, developer of the “Gravity Golf” teaching system, who is considered to be one of the premier instructors in the United States.  Daniel has taught at his father's schools in Arkansas, and on his own in Hawaii, Florida, and most recently for Carnival Cruise Lines.  He has also taught along with Trevino at a golf school in Atlanta, Ga.

Daniel has a first-hand technical understanding of every facet of the game - from the driver to the short game, and to putting.  Although his own beautiful golf swing is a testament to his working knowledge of swing mechanics, his greatest asset is the ability to communicate to others exactly how the swing should work, and more importantly, how to learn it themselves.  He is especially good at getting kids started with solid fundamentals and in teaching golfers how to achieve great power and control without hurting themselves.

Daniel is available for private and group lessons by appointment, and can be contacted by phone or e-mail.
